Great Ormond Street Hospital

Role: Creative Direction, Illustration, Storyboarding, Graphic Design, Animation Production

Brief

Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals, caring for some of the most seriously ill children in the UK. GOSH needed content that could do two things at once: make complex medical and research information accessible to staff, patients, and families, while ensuring the hospital environment felt inclusive to everyone who walked through the door.

Approach

For each area of work, I started with thorough research and discovery. I got under the skin of each department, liaised closely with staff, and drew on insights from the hospital’s own focus groups. Building on their existing brand identity, I developed new characters, graphics, and animations that felt like a natural extension of what was already there. I worked closely with the Inclusion and Diversity team to ensure everything authentically reflected the GOSH community.

Outcome

The animations now reach staff, patients, and researchers, delivering complex information in a warm and accessible way. My illustration work is woven throughout the hospital estate, creating an environment where children, families and staff feel seen and welcome.
